Where I thought
I had found pride
I found vanity
Which haunts me
With its delusional
Preconceived ideals
And beliefs
That I
Could be
As God
Freeing
My brothers
And my sisters
Unifying them
Under
A single common
Government
Where I thought
I had found harmony
I found rebellion
And chaos
For not
All men
Would bow
To my will
And disgruntled
Masses
Would cry out
And weep for
The way it
Once was
Refusing to grow
Slowly
With their
Brothers
And sisters
O’ for they
Have lost
Many comforts
That were
Once theirs
Where I thought
I had found truth
I found corruption
And lies
In a polluted world
Filled with hungry
And homeless
People
Where leaders
Would line
Their wallets
And fill
Their bellies
Deaf to
The cries
For reformation
Where I thought
I found paradise
I found disease
And sadness
In a fellowship
Of wasted
Self-centered
People
That was not
A fellowship
At all
Where I thought
I had found unity
I found it
As well as love
In the hearts
Of all
Caring people
Who seek
Peace and
Harmony
In a most
Generous way
Nonetheless
Of what
Their
Governments say
This is the call
For reformation
Thus is the need
For change
Thus is the hope
For world peace
Today is the day
For
Peace
