People who are living life one day at a time try to pay attention to what is the task at hand. As difficult as it might be, we are trying to live in the present. When we are healthy, less stressed, and not preoccupied with fear or control, we can find it possible to be engaged with the moment. This is awareness of the now. Very often, when we are working with our hands, we are becoming engaged in what we are doing. Sometimes, while in nature, we hear the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees. We see the bees landing in the bosom of a rose. We feel the warmth of the sun on our face. During these time we are being engaged with our natural surroundings. We also become capable of being engaged with people. We learn to listen and we listen to learn. And when we do this we are developing life skills. Remember this. It’s important.
