The Reality Of Kindness

By December 30, 2023Be Well Today

Many people living in one day at a time recovery understand the reality of kindness. What kindness is to many of us, and is a reality of one day at a time recovery, is when we are safe, we stand on our own two feet in regards to being responsible for our own recovery. Kindness is being a helping hand. It is not, for lack of better words, retarding our limited independences. We all need support. Especially when choosing to live a life of recovery. Life is not always easy. If we are kind we will tell others the truth. We do struggle at times but enabling us to live in our addiction keeps us sick. In active addiction we cannot be reasonable and we cannot understand the concept of being reasonably happy, honestly joyous, and then ultimately free. Teach us not to be our own worst enemy. We have to become responsible. Be kind. Peace.
